Aug. 24 Updates

Hello Families!  It's hard to believe that another week of school is in the books.  Here are a few classroom highlights and reminders. 1. In math we are starting to work with fractions this week. Hello Everyone!  It has been a great start to the school year.  1. The past few days we have spent time getting to know each other, learning expectations as well as some problem solving challenges.  In our STEM  block (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathmatics), students are working on the math standard 6.AF.1 which deals with evaluating algebraic expressions. 6th Grade Celebration

May 25th 2018

On Wednesday, May 30th,  6th graders will be celebrating their last day of school with an awards ceremony and cookout.   Parents are welcome to come celebrate with us beginning at 9:30 with the awards.  We will then be heading outside for students to mingle and sign their alumni t-shirts.  Families can participate up until our lunchtime, at 11:30.  If you wish to volunteer with the cookout or afternoon activities, please let us know.  I will put you in contact with our PFA.   ...Continue Reading

Science and STEM Fair

This year, Lawrence Township is offering two variations of science fair projects.  This project is required for all 6th graders in the district. S_tudents may choose to complete a traditional science fair project that follows the steps of the scientific method OR students may choose to try the LT STEM Challenge. _ Each project has its own criteria and steps to follow. King's Island Trip Contract

Hello Families!  On Friday your child should have brought home a contract that outlines our 6th grade King's Island trip that we will be taking in the spring.  The slip is actually a contract between students, families and the school.  Since the trip is 2 hours away, we must esure all students are able to exhibit responsibilty and self control.
