Hello Families and Happy Friday!
We had a great week this week! In math, students continue to show improvement in place value and rounding large numbers. Practice with your child by asking them to read numbers up to one million. In reading, we discovered information on mountains and other land forms. We are almost finished with our land forms lapbooks - they are looking really cool! We had a lot of reason to celebrate in writer's workshop as well! Ask your child about their stamina goals and achievements in writing! In science we learned about volcanoes and the Ring of Fire. Ask your child if it is possible for a volcano to pop up in your backyard. Don't forget to look for your child's parent letter. If you get a chance, you can even write back! I am collecting them on Mondays. This collection will show growth as well as make a nice keepsake at the end of the year.
Homework packets went out today and are due on Thursday, September 3rd. Please check your red take home folder for announcements and graded work.
As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns. Have a fabulous weekend!
