Hello Families! We hope you had a great spring break.
It's hard to believe that we are already in our last quarter of the school year. With that being said, I wanted to remind you that middle school course scheduling is due by April 8th which is this coming Monday. Middle schools came to visit students the Wednesday before Spring Break. They gave important information regarding how to go about entering elective requests in Skyward. Please be sure to check with your child to see if they had selected their classess for next year. If they do not imput their requests by Monday, the guidence counselor just puts them in whatever elective is open.
All students will have the 4 core subjects, ELA, Math, SS and Science, and up to 3 electives. However, if students are not successful with the upcomming State Assessment ILEARN (ISTEP) They may be given and additional ELA class, Math class or both. If they don't pass either area of ILEARN, they will only get 1 elective. So, when scheduling, please be sure to prioritize and put their #1 choice for electives first.
Science Fair projects are due next week. The sooner they bring them, the better....we can give them feedback and pointers to help them make improvements before they are graded on Friday. The Crestview science fair is next Friday the 12th. The top 3 projects will go the the district fair the following week. They need to complete all of the steps of their science fair experiment as well as put together a neat and organized display board.
We sent home report cards the last day before break. Even though they are posted to skyward, we sent home a paper copy to sign and verify you had access and were able to see it. Some students had an additional form stating their King's Island trip was in jeopardy due to either behavior or academics. There were some comments on there of feedback for improvements so they could fix their problems and be back on track for the trip.
If you have any question, please let us know.
