Subject: Weekly Update 1/23-1/27
Date: January 23rd 2017
Below and attached you will find resources aimed at extending your child's education at home.
*In Math, we are finishing up our study of Division by the end of this week. However, I highly encourage students to continue practicing long division at home. By the end of our Division unit fourth grade students are expected to solve division problems up to the thousands place.
*In Reading, we are working to describe a character using specific details in the text to support our answers. Students are able to login to Pearson Online and read ahead in the stories. This week our story is Quake: The San Francisco Earthquake of 1906.
*In Writing we are continuing with Opinion Writing. Students will be expected to write a three sentence introductory paragraph that: 1) Hooks the reader 2) states an opinion and 3) introduces the topic of an essay.
*Please remember students can get on to Lexia, Pearson Online, and Dreambox at home. These programs are designed to be supplemental material in Reading and Math.
*Please be sure to check and sign your child's assignment notebook for their homework by Friday. Every student is given a weekly behavior chart to be signed over the weekend and returned on Monday.
